Erin O’Dea is an associate attorney at Rice Law. She focuses her practice on family law, including divorce, custody, support, and mediation matters. Since joining the firm in 2011, Erin has become a trusted advocate for clients navigating complex and emotionally charged legal challenges. Her approach combines legal acumen with compassion and a commitment to client-centered service.
Erin earned her Juris Doctor from the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law in Memphis in 2011, following a B.A. from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, in 2005. She was admitted to the Tennessee Bar in November 2011 and is an active member of the Memphis Bar Association, contributing to its family law section initiatives.
While in law school, Erin distinguished herself through leadership and community service. She received the Dean’s Distinguished Service Award in 2010 and 2011 and was co-chair of the Race Judicata, a charity event that raised nearly $15,000 for Memphis Area Legal Services. Her elected roles in the Student Bar Association and faculty appointment to the Leadership Council reflect her early dedication to justice and ethical standards.
In addition to her legal work, Erin played a key role in launching the Memphis Bar Association’s Family Law Section listserv, a platform that facilitates collaboration among attorneys. She is also deeply involved in local animal rescue efforts, helping shelters foster and place animals in permanent homes, underscoring her commitment to community well-being.
Since beginning her career at Rice Law as a law clerk in 2010, Erin O’Dea has built a reputation as a dependable, empathetic, and results-driven attorney.
