About
Eric Menhart is the founder and Principal Attorney of Lexero Law, a boutique firm focused on Internet law, intellectual property law, and civil litigation. He represents clients in state and federal trial and appellate courts, before the USPTO and Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, and in private arbitration. His work includes trademark and copyright matters, privacy, electronic communications, data security, technology licensing, and complex civil disputes.
Menhart earned a Juris Doctor from The George Washington University Law School in May 2005. He received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Maryland in December 2001 with a double major in Government & Politics and Sociology. In law school, he published journal articles, served in American Bar Association student leadership, participated on the Moot Court Board, and led the GW Law ATLA chapter.
Menhart has served as lead counsel in hundreds of civil litigations involving intellectual property, trade dress, copyright, trademark, patent, privacy, wiretapping, electronic communications, or data security issues. He has first-chaired complex jury and bench trials, handled class actions involving data breaches, and conducted or defended more than 150 fact and expert depositions. His appellate work includes matters in the Fourth, Sixth, and Tenth Circuits.
Eric Menhart combines litigation experience with intellectual property and technology counseling for businesses and individuals. He handles trademark applications, prosecutions, renewals, oppositions, and cancellations while also negotiating technology licenses and contracts involving software, web development, and social media. His broad court admissions and experience across trial, appellate, administrative, and arbitration forums support a practice designed to protect rights, resolve disputes, and address legal risks created by technology.
