Eric A. Elkind is a seasoned attorney with decades of experience guiding clients through the complexities of real estate law. He advises on a wide range of property matters, including acquisitions, sales, leasing, development, and dispute resolution. His work has involved significant office buildings, hotels, industrial facilities, resort projects, and agricultural lands. Clients value his practical approach and ability to deliver clear, effective solutions in high-value real estate transactions.
Mr. Elkind earned his B.A. from Tufts University in 1989 and his J.D., cum laude, from Boston University School of Law in 1995. After law school, he began his career at Goodsill Anderson Quinn & Stifel before serving as corporate counsel for Castle & Cooke Inc. and its Hawaii subsidiaries. These early experiences provided a strong foundation in both private practice and corporate real estate management, giving him a broad perspective he continues to apply to client needs today.
In addition to his transactional practice, Mr. Elkind is experienced in construction and development law. He represents developers in structuring design and construction contracts for both new projects and renovations. He also negotiates and drafts commercial leases for landlords and tenants across retail, office, and industrial properties. When disputes arise, he works to resolve them efficiently, drawing on his background in litigation strategy and negotiation to protect client interests.
Eric A. Elkind is admitted to practice in all Hawaii state courts and the U.S. District Court for the District of Hawaii. He has earned recognition in The Best Lawyers in America for real estate law and holds the AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell. Active in the legal community, he has served with Volunteer Legal Services Hawaii and was recognized by the Hawaii State Senate for his commitment to pro bono service.
