About
Elizabeth W. Erickson is a Shareholder at Worden Thane P.C. in Missoula whose practice centers on land, water, natural resources, and property matters. She helps clients address land use questions, access and easement issues, real estate transactions, conservation real estate, estate planning, water law, and environmental matters. Her work draws on experience in public and private practice and focuses on practical planning for property owners and organizations.
Elizabeth earned her J.D. from the University of Montana School of Law, where she served as an editor of the Public Lands and Resources Law Review. She also earned a B.A. in Spanish and Psychology from the University of Georgia and an M.S. in Environmental Studies from the University of Montana. Her academic training supports a practice that regularly connects property law with environmental and planning concerns.
Elizabeth previously served as attorney for the City of Missoula Open Space Program, handling public and private land transactions and a range of land use, real estate, and easement matters. Earlier private-practice work included environmental and natural resources law, civil litigation, estate planning, and disability law. After law school, she clerked for three justices of the Montana Supreme Court, adding appellate and judicial experience to her background.
Elizabeth W. Erickson brings a multidisciplinary perspective to legal issues involving land ownership, conservation, water, and future planning. Her experience allows her to evaluate how transactions, land use rules, natural resource concerns, and estate objectives can affect the same property. She works with clients to identify workable legal options, document important rights, and plan for long-term use, transfer, and protection of property interests.
