Elise Buie

Elise Buie is the founder of Elise Buie Family Law Group, a Seattle-based firm known for compassionate, high-impact family law representation. Her practice covers divorce, child custody, support, relocation, postnuptial agreements, and blended family matters. With extensive experience in high-conflict cases, Elise is committed to preserving civility and educating clients through even the most challenging legal transitions.

Elise earned her J.D. from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, where she served on the Loyola Law Review and the National Moot Court Team. She began her legal career as a federal judicial clerk and later practiced litigation at Blue Williams in New Orleans. After Hurricane Katrina uprooted her family, Elise relocated multiple times before settling in the Pacific Northwest, where her personal experience with divorce and co-parenting shaped her approach to family law.

Elise brings a unique blend of legal rigor and real-life empathy to her work. She is collaboratively trained and has completed 40 hours of mediation training. Her background in neuroscience, litigation, and guardian ad litem service allows her to tackle complex parenting and financial issues with insight and precision. She advocates for children’s best interests and has served as a Court-Appointed Guardian ad Litem in contentious custody and dependency cases.

Active in the Washington legal community, Elise Buie holds memberships in the Washington State Bar, King and Snohomish County Bar Associations, Washington Women Lawyers, the National Association of Women Lawyers, and the American Bar Association. She also gives back through the WSBA’s Moderate Means Program and has served in leadership roles with AFCC’s Washington Chapter.
