Earlean A. Laster

Earlean A. Laster has dedicated more than 25 years to delivering aggressive and compassionate legal representation in Wisconsin. Known for her sharp legal insight and firm advocacy, she has helped countless individuals navigate the complexities of divorce, criminal defense, and personal injury cases with clarity and strength.

Earlean began her academic journey at the University of Marquette, Milwaukee, earning a B.A. in 1994 with a major in Criminology and minors in Law Studies and Sociology. She continued to the University of Wisconsin Law School in Madison, receiving her J.D. in 1997. While in law school, she interned at the Milwaukee City Attorney’s Office, where she drafted key legal documents for Circuit Court and Court of Appeals proceedings.

Earlean became a licensed Wisconsin attorney in 1997 and immediately began building a reputation for effective legal counsel. Her early years included work at local law firms, where she gained essential experience that shaped her courtroom approach. She is especially recognized for her work in family law matters, including paternity, child custody, divorce, legal separation, and domestic injunctions.

Earlean also handles complex criminal defense cases. She has represented clients charged with DUI, armed robbery, battery, drug and gun offenses, and more. Her deep understanding of both state and municipal legal systems has allowed her to defend her clients with confidence and precision, helping them protect their rights in high-stakes cases.

Earlean A. Laster continues to uphold the highest standards of legal excellence and community service, providing focused advocacy for clients in family and criminal law throughout Wisconsin. She has made history as the first African-American woman appointed as a Court Commissioner for the City of Milwaukee. In that role, she presided over traffic, in-custody, and ordinance violation cases.
