E Don Copple is a seasoned attorney with nearly six decades of experience representing clients in Idaho’s state and federal courts, as well as in mediations and arbitrations. His practice spans business transactions, real estate, title insurance, estate planning, probate, family law, land use, and regulatory takings. He has long been recognized for his practical counsel and strong advocacy in complex disputes and high-stakes negotiations.
Mr. Copple earned his B.A., cum laude, from the University of Idaho in 1964 and his J.D. from the University of Idaho College of Law in 1966. His academic honors include membership in Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Gamma Mu, and Phi Kappa Phi. He was admitted to practice in Idaho in 1966 and is also admitted before the U.S. District Court of Idaho, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
Throughout his career, Mr. Copple has guided clients through estate planning matters, helping families protect and transfer wealth with wills and trusts tailored to their needs. He also represents property owners in eminent domain and inverse condemnation cases, defending their rights when faced with government actions. His experience includes serving as an instructor for eminent domain seminars and contributing to professional education in this complex field of law.
In addition to his legal practice, E Don Copple previously served in the Idaho State Legislature from 1968 to 1974. He has also represented clients in multiple reported Idaho Supreme Court cases, leaving a lasting impact on state law. His dedication, knowledge, and long-standing commitment to his clients and community have established him as a respected leader in Idaho’s legal profession.
