Dustin J. Richards

Dustin J. Richards is an attorney and member at Pence and MacMillan LLC in Laramie, Wyoming, where he advises individuals and businesses on estate planning, trust creation and administration, business planning and succession, contracts, real estate, and trademark matters. Richards also handles business litigation and helps clients structure transactions, protect property and business interests, and plan for future ownership, management, and estate needs.

Richards earned a B.S. in Business Administration, magna cum laude, from the University of Wyoming in 2002, an M.S. in e.Business from the university in 2003, and a J.D. with honors from the University of Wyoming College of Law in 2012. His business and legal education supports a practice involving financial planning, contracts, property transactions, succession strategies, and the legal needs of closely held businesses and individuals.

Before attending law school, Richards worked as an assistant controller at a Colorado hospital, a financial analyst at a hospital in Las Vegas, and a manager of a family-owned business in Laramie. While in law school, he presented oral argument before the Wyoming Supreme Court on behalf of the Attorney General. He has practiced with Pence and MacMillan since 2012 and became a member of the firm in 2020.

Dustin J. Richards is admitted in Wyoming and Colorado and before the U.S. District Court for the District of Wyoming. He belongs to the American Bar Association, Wyoming State Bar, Colorado Bar Association, Southeast Wyoming Estate Planning Council, and Albany County Bar Association. Richards has also been published in Wyoming Lawyer and the Wyoming Law Review and has served in community roles with Ark Regional Services, StagePoint Federal Credit Union, Rotary Club of Laramie, and Laramie Jubilee Days.
