Clay D. Geittmann

Clay D. Geittmann is a partner and Wyoming estate planning attorney who guides individuals, families, and business owners through estate and tax planning, business planning, situs planning, probate, and trust and estate administration. Based in Jackson, he helps clients structure wealth transfers, address tax considerations, organize business interests, and carry out fiduciary responsibilities. His practice is grounded in decades of experience serving clients throughout Teton County.

Clay earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Eastern Washington University in 1994 and a Juris Doctor from Gonzaga University College of Law in 1997. His education developed strong research, writing, and analytical skills that support his work on complex planning and administration matters. This background helps him explain technical legal and tax issues clearly while developing practical strategies suited to each client’s goals.

Clay began practicing law in 1997 and has built his career in Teton County. His experience includes years as a partner in private practice as well as service as senior vice president and trust manager for the Bank of Jackson Hole Trust Department. He has also written and spoken on Wyoming estate planning, dynasty trusts, family limited partnerships, special needs trusts, estate tax laws, and planning issues connected with divorce and personal injury proceedings.

Clay D. Geittmann is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and belongs to the Wyoming Estate Planning Advisory Council, the Wyoming State Bar, and the Teton County Bar Association.
