Donald Beeson is a founding partner and intellectual property attorney with more than fifty years of experience in intellectual property and commercial law. His practice focuses on patent prosecution, trademark prosecution, international intellectual property protection, licensing, dispute resolution, distribution and sales agreements, and strategic counseling. He helps entrepreneurs and established companies protect, manage, and leverage innovations while developing intellectual property strategies that support long-term business goals in domestic and international markets.
Donald earned a J.D. from Golden Gate University School of Law and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. His engineering background supports his work with technically complex inventions and patent matters across varied industries. This combination of legal and technical training allows him to evaluate innovations, understand how products function, and advise clients on patent protection, trademark matters, licensing arrangements, and commercial agreements involving valuable intellectual property assets.
Donald has secured hundreds of patents involving audio reproduction technologies, architectural lighting, microwave equipment and devices, construction materials, consumer products, and other technologies. He represents clients before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and works with foreign associates to secure patent and trademark protection internationally. His practice also includes licensing, intellectual property dispute resolution, and drafting commercial agreements, including domestic and international distribution agreements that help clients protect rights while expanding business relationships.
Donald Beeson is admitted in California, before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and several federal district courts.
