Derek D. Reed

Derek D. Reed is a highly accomplished attorney at Ehrlich, Petriello, Gudin, Plaza & Reed, Attorneys at Law, where he represents clients in complex real estate and commercial litigation. His practice covers landlord/tenant disputes, Fair Housing Act (FHA) and NJLAD compliance, rent control, and real estate development matters across New Jersey and New York.

Mr. Reed earned his Juris Doctor from Syracuse University College of Law in 2003, where he developed a strong foundation in administrative and property law. He received his Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from Gettysburg College in 2000. Mr. Reed is admitted to practice in New Jersey, New York, and multiple federal district courts.

Mr. Reed frequently appears before the New Jersey Office of Administrative Law, where he represents property owners and developers in disputes involving the Department of Community Affairs and the Department on Civil Rights. His deep understanding of state housing regulations enables him to negotiate complex violations, abatements, and compliance matters effectively on behalf of his clients.

A thought leader in housing and property law, Mr. Reed has lectured widely for Rutgers University School of Continuing Legal Education, NJICLE, and major industry associations such as NJAA, POA, and JAHMA. He is also President of the New Jersey Property Owners Association and serves on the Board of Directors of the New Jersey Apartment Association’s Political Action Committee.
