Debbie earned her B.S. in Business from Samford University. She later obtained her J.D. from Birmingham School of Law. Her education provided a strong foundation in both business principles and legal analysis. This background allows her to understand financial issues, contractual matters, and complex legal procedures that often affect her clients’ cases. She was admitted to the Alabama State Bar in 2005.
Debbie worked as a paralegal beginning in 1993 at a Huntsville law firm before becoming an attorney. In that role, she assisted clients with litigation, workers’ compensation, real estate, domestic matters, bankruptcy, and Social Security cases. After earning her law degree and joining the Alabama Bar, she practiced with a firm in Athens before opening her own practice in Madison in 2007. Her experience across multiple practice areas allows her to guide clients through both routine and complex legal matters.
Debbie Long is known for her hands-on approach. Clients meet directly with her, not with support staff, ensuring personalized attention and clear answers. She takes time to explain legal options and recommended strategies so clients can make informed decisions. She is a member of the Limestone and Madison County Bar Associations, the Alabama State Bar, Alabama Trial Lawyers, the American Association for Justice, and the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys.
