About
Barry S. Feigenbaum focuses his practice on business, corporate, and commercial law, as well as bankruptcy and reorganization matters. He represents borrowers, secured lenders, and real estate developers in complex financial transactions. His work includes bankruptcy proceedings, out-of-court debt restructurings, and the acquisition and sale of operating businesses.
Barry earned a B.B.A. in Accounting, with distinction, 1978, from The George Washington University. He later received his J.D. with honors in 1981 from the University of Connecticut School of Law. His background in accounting and law supports his detailed approach to financial and restructuring matters.
Barry has represented numerous debtors in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court and guided companies through Chapter 11 proceedings. He has managed sales of operating businesses through bankruptcy and has been appointed Plan Administrator by creditors. He also has experience helping companies resolve complex product liability claims through structured mediation and confirmed plans of reorganization.
Barry regularly represents secured lenders in bankruptcy and foreclosure proceedings. His work includes protecting lenders’ interests in real estate projects and partnership interests. He has also advised clients in challenges to federal bankruptcy legislation before the United States District Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
Barry S. Feigenbaum previously served as Associate General Counsel at Coleco Industries, Inc., a former Fortune 500 company listed on the New York Stock Exchange, where he handled financial and corporate matters. He has been designated a New England Super Lawyer, has held an AV rating from Martindale Hubbell for more than 20 consecutive years, and is a fellow of the Connecticut Bar Foundation.
