David R. Tannen

David R. Tannen is the founder and lead attorney of Tannen Law Group in Johns Creek, where he has focused on family law for more than two decades. He represents clients in contested and uncontested divorce, child custody, parenting plans, high-asset divorce, complex property division, child support, spousal support, enforcement and contempt actions, and prenuptial and postnuptial agreements. He founded the firm in 2002.

David earned a J.D. from Emory University School of Law in 1985 and a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1982. He was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1986 and the State Bar of Georgia in 1994. His education and long family law practice support his work on disputes involving financial records, parenting issues, property characterization, support obligations, settlement negotiations, and courtroom proceedings.

David prepares family law cases with attention to negotiation and trial readiness. His work includes custody disputes, cases involving hidden or disputed assets, business interests in divorce, support calculations, contempt proceedings, and marital agreements. He works with financial professionals when complex assets require valuation or tracing and uses discovery, documentation, and courtroom advocacy to address disagreements over property, parenting, support, and compliance with existing court orders.

David R. Tannen is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia, and the Forsyth County Bar Association. His practice serves clients in Johns Creek and surrounding North Georgia communities. He combines long-term family law experience with direct case preparation, helping clients evaluate options, understand procedures, and pursue practical resolutions while remaining prepared for contested hearings or trial when required.
