David P. Martin

David P. Martin is a leading employment lawyer and the Senior and Managing Attorney of The Martin Law Group, LLC. He focuses on ERISA and employee benefit litigation and has handled ERISA claims since 1992. For more than 30 years, he has represented clients in both federal and state courts. He has argued cases before the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 2nd and 11th Circuits, as well as the Alabama Supreme Court and the Alabama Court of Civil Appeals. Since 1999, the majority of his practice has been devoted to ERISA litigation. He helps individuals recover denied disability, health, and life insurance benefits, and works to hold insurance companies and plan administrators accountable.

David earned his J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law, graduating in the top 10% of his class. He was inducted into the Order of the Coif, named a Hugo Black Scholar, and served on the Board of Editors for the Journal of the Legal Profession. He also earned his degree from the University of Houston at Clear Lake, graduating magna cum laude.

David began his legal career in Tuscaloosa as a clerk and later became a shareholder at established law firms before founding The Martin Law Group, LLC in 2007. He is licensed in Alabama and admitted to practice in multiple U.S. District Courts and U.S. Courts of Appeals. He regularly lectures on ERISA and employee benefit issues and has published numerous articles in respected legal journals.
