David N. Hofstein

David N. Hofstein is a highly respected attorney and the Founding Shareholder and President of Hofstein Weiner & Meyer, P.C. With a career spanning over four decades, he has been a pioneer in modern family law. His practice focuses on complex divorce and custody cases, representing high-net-worth individuals, professionals, corporate executives, and entrepreneurs.

David earned his J.D. from New York University School of Law in 1976, where he was a Root-Tilden Scholarship recipient. He completed his B.A. from Haverford College in 1973, later serving as President of its Alumni Association. He was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in 1976 and has since become a leading authority in family law.

Beyond client representation, David is a recognized educator and author. He taught for over 15 years as an adjunct lecturer at Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law, covering custody law, equitable distribution, and legal ethics. He co-edited the Pennsylvania Bar Institute’s textbook, “Custody Law and Practice in Pennsylvania,” and co-authored West’s Pennsylvania Forms volume on Domestic Relations. His published articles appear in The Philadelphia Legal Intelligencer, the ABA Family Law Section’s Advocate, and the Pennsylvania Family Lawyer.

David N. Hofstein has held key positions in national, state, and local legal organizations. He served as President of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers Foundation (2017-2019), its Pennsylvania Chapter (2012-2013), and its Continuing Legal Education Committee Chair. He was also a Pennsylvania Supreme Court Domestic Relations Procedural Rules Committee member.
