David McLauchlan

David C. McLauchlan, Esq. is a highly accomplished attorney with more than three decades of experience in complex litigation, insurance coverage, and professional liability. His practice areas span business litigation, reinsurance, product liability, construction law, and aviation law. He has successfully led high-stakes trials nationwide and is recognized for his appellate work.

David earned his Bachelor of Arts from Bradley University, where he was honored by Omicron Delta Kappa and served as President of the Interfraternity Council. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois College of Law, where he competed on the National Moot Court Team. He was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1972 and has appeared before several U.S. appellate and district courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court.

David represents leading domestic and international insurers in high-stakes asbestos and environmental coverage litigation. He served as lead trial counsel for the London Insurers in a $260 million insurance coverage dispute with Uniroyal Inc., winning on every issue. His trial successes have saved insurance clients hundreds of millions of dollars in potential exposure and helped set influential precedents in modern insurance law.

David also brings leadership experience, having been elected partner in 1980 and serving as Department Chairman and Executive Committee member at a major national law firm. In addition to his litigation success, he is a certified arbitrator and mediator through ARIAS-US, the Illinois Supreme Court program, and several federal and state courts.

David is a published legal author, lecturer, and panelist at major legal forums including LexisNexis, the International Law Association, and the Litigation Counsel of America. His accolades include AV peer rating by Martindale-Hubbell, Super Lawyers, and the Eamon Shannon Award for Pro Bono service.
