David K. Wilkinson

David K. Wilkinson is a co-founder of Wilkinson & Finkbeiner, LLP, and practices family law exclusively. He is a Certified Family Law Specialist and a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, where he serves as President-Elect of the Massachusetts Chapter. His practice spans negotiation, mediation, and complex litigation.

David earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the University of Washington, where he was named to the National Dean’s List. He received his Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law, graduating in the top one-third of his class and earning the highest grades in Contracts II and Arbitration Law.

David is Board Certified in Family Trial Law by the National Board of Trial Advocacy, reflecting extensive courtroom experience. He is also a certified mediator with the Massachusetts Council on Family Mediation and regularly serves as an Attorney Representing Children in custody disputes. His work includes high-asset divorce and complex property matters.

David represents clients in all areas of family law, including divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, domestic abuse, and post-judgment matters. He has handled cases involving multimillion-dollar real estate, business interests, stock options, and high-income support issues, while also guiding clients with practical and tailored strategies.

David is admitted to practice in California and Massachusetts and before the United States District Court for the Southern District of California. He is active in professional education, frequently lecturing attorneys on family law and technology issues, and has served as a Lawyer of the Day and a member of the bar referral panel.

David K. Wilkinson has also contributed to family law policy by drafting proposed legislation to expedite child custody modification proceedings in Massachusetts. He continues to expand the firm’s presence in Boston, Needham, Hingham, and New Bedford, providing clients with experienced, accessible family law representation statewide.
