About
Jenessa E. Gerard is a Massachusetts attorney with more than two decades of legal experience. She was admitted to the bar in 1998 and began her career at a law firm concentrating on real estate transactions. Her early work laid a strong foundation in property law and client-focused representation.
Jenessa earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in 1994. She later received her Juris Doctor from the University of Maine School of Law in 1997. This academic background prepared her for a broad legal practice spanning transactional and litigation matters.
In 2001, Jenessa opened her own law practice and later partnered with Danielle L. Poulin in 2007. Her practice has primarily focused on representing lenders, buyers, and sellers in real estate transactions and refinancings, as well as assisting clients with estate planning tailored to their long-term goals.
In 2011, Jenessa expanded her practice to include family law and is now a certified mediator. She has appeared before the Housing Court, District Court, Superior Court, and the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, giving her broad experience in courtrooms and mediation.
Beyond her legal work, Jenessa is committed to community involvement. She supports Cure SMA, an organization dedicated to assisting families affected by spinal muscular atrophy and funding research for treatment and cures. She also volunteers with the Human Rights Committee of the Nemasket Group in Fairhaven, supporting adults living with disabilities.
