Daniel Mullkoff

Daniel Mullkoff is a skilled civil rights and employment attorney at Wang Hecker LLP. He represents clients in a broad range of cases involving police misconduct, solitary confinement, employment and housing discrimination, sexual abuse, wage violations, and First Amendment rights. His litigation experience spans both trial and appellate courts, where he has secured meaningful results for individuals and classes of plaintiffs facing systemic injustice.

Mr. Mullkoff earned his J.D. from Yale Law School in 2010, where he was awarded the Charles G. Albom Prize for Excellence in Appellate Advocacy in a Clinical Program. He received his B.A. with high distinction from the University of Michigan in 2005.

Before joining Wang Hecker LLP in 2014, Mr. Mullkoff served as a law clerk to the Honorable Keith P. Ellison of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas. He previously practiced at the New York Civil Liberties Union, where he led high‑impact civil rights litigation involving stop‑and‑frisk practices, solitary confinement conditions, and First Amendment violations.

Mr. Mullkoff has led or co-led several landmark civil rights cases. In Miller v. City of New York, he helped secure a $53 million settlement for detainees and parolees placed in unlawful restrictive housing. He also obtained over $5 million in Parker v. City of New York for Rikers Island detainees subjected to due process violations in solitary confinement. His work in Peoples v. Fischer contributed to systemic reforms of solitary confinement practices in New York state prisons.

Mr. Mullkoff’s employment litigation practice includes successfully representing numerous clients in cases involving discrimination, harassment, and retaliation based on race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, and more. Mr. Mullkoff also played a role in advising state attorneys general on legal matters during the 2020 presidential election.
