About
Daniel Kalish is the Managing Partner of HKM Employment Attorneys LLP and an employment law attorney who represents employees in complex workplace litigation. His practice focuses on trial work involving employment disputes, and he has tried more than thirty cases to jury verdict. He brings prior experience as both a prosecutor and a lawyer at a major defense firm, giving him a broad perspective on investigation, evidence, litigation strategy, and courtroom advocacy.
Kalish earned a J.D. from Yale Law School in 2001, where he served on the Yale Law Journal. He earned an A.B. in History from Harvard College in 1997 and received academic distinctions including the John Harvard Scholarship and Phi Beta Kappa. His academic background supports a practice that relies heavily on legal research, persuasive writing, factual analysis, and the presentation of complex employment claims to judges and juries.
Before joining HKM, Kalish served as a felony prosecutor with the King County Prosecutor’s Office, trying cases ranging from identity theft to first-degree murder. Earlier, he clerked for a federal judge and worked at Perkins Coie. In his employment practice, he represents employees across workplace disputes and has also written extensively on employment discrimination and state court criminal practice, including work as a chief author of Washington Lawyer’s Practice Manual chapters.
Daniel Kalish has received professional recognition for employment and trial work and is admitted in Washington and Idaho. His practice combines extensive jury-trial experience with a strong writing and appellate foundation. By representing employees in contested workplace matters, he helps clients develop evidence, evaluate legal claims, prepare for negotiation or trial, and navigate the procedural demands of complex employment litigation.
