Daniel K. Kinder is a highly respected labor and employment attorney with decades of experience representing employers in litigation, arbitration, and labor relations. As a partner at Whelan Corrente & Flanders LLP, he focuses on cases involving discrimination, wrongful termination, wage-hour disputes, pension litigation, and employer compliance with labor laws. He has successfully defended numerous public and private employers in state and federal courts and has advised businesses on labor strategies, collective bargaining, and affirmative action policies.
Mr. Kinder earned his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and his A.B., cum laude, from Princeton University.
Mr. Kinder has represented a diverse range of employers, including small businesses, multinational corporations, and public institutions. His legal expertise covers complex labor matters such as discrimination claims, wage disputes, and employment contract negotiations. He has successfully defended more than 150 cases involving allegations of discrimination, retaliation, and harassment before state agencies, the EEOC, and the OFCCP.
Mr. Kinder is known for his work in labor contract negotiations, helping employers regain management rights and meet financial objectives. With a strong track record in grievance arbitration, he has conducted hundreds of proceedings with a success rate exceeding 95%. His work has helped businesses navigate federal and state labor laws, ensuring compliance and reducing legal risks.
In addition to litigation, Daniel K. Kinder has contributed to legal education by writing and editing articles on labor law. He serves as the lead editor for the Rhode Island Employment Law Letter and The Municipal Employer. He has also conducted employment law seminars for the American Management Association and taught at Bryant College’s graduate business program.
