About
Daniel C. Hoefle is a founding partner of Hoefle Phoenix Gormley & Roberts, PLLC and has practiced law in Portsmouth for more than 30 years. His practice is concentrated in business and corporate matters, real estate, and business litigation. He serves as counselor to many second- and third-generation family-owned businesses, helping clients address legal issues that arise as companies operate, grow, transfer ownership, manage property, and resolve commercial disputes.
Daniel earned a B.A., cum laude, from Colby College and a J.D. from Boston College. After law school, he spent three years as an assistant district attorney for the Bronx County District Attorney in New York City. That early courtroom experience, combined with his academic training, provides a foundation for a practice that now blends business counseling, transactional work, real estate matters, and litigation for established companies and closely held enterprises.
Daniel returned to Portsmouth in 1984 and later co-founded the firm in 1989. His work includes corporate law, litigation, and real estate, with particular attention to the needs of family-owned businesses. He advises clients on matters that require continuity, sound judgment, and a practical understanding of how legal decisions affect operations and ownership over time. His admissions include New Hampshire, New York, and Massachusetts.
Daniel C. Hoefle has paired legal practice with sustained community involvement in the Seacoast region. His board service has included the Foundation for Seacoast Health, Greater Piscataqua Community Foundation, Portsmouth Rotary Club, Prescott Park Arts Festival, Rye Education Foundation, and Little Harbour Chapel. His recognition includes Philanthropist of the Year in New Hampshire and multiple Paul Harris Fellow honors through Portsmouth Rotary, reflecting a career closely connected to Portsmouth businesses and community institutions.
