Emily B. Penaskovic

Emily B. Penaskovic is a Shareholder in Sheehan Phinney’s Corporate Group in Portsmouth. Her practice covers transactional, securities, and general corporate matters for entrepreneurs and high-growth companies throughout the business lifecycle. She advises founders at early stages, assists companies with equity and debt financings, and negotiates later-stage exits. Her work also includes entity formation, restructuring, contract negotiations, corporate governance, and strategic business matters.

Emily earned a B.A., summa cum laude, from the University of New Hampshire and a J.D., with honors, from the University of Connecticut School of Law. During law school, she obtained a Certificate in Intellectual Property. Her education supports a corporate practice that combines business formation, finance, transactions, intellectual property, and governance, allowing her to help clients connect legal structure with growth plans, capital needs, commercial agreements, and long-term strategic decisions.

Emily counsels companies on capital raising, mergers and acquisitions, business formations and restructurings, commercial contracts, and governance. Her practice also includes trademark protection and intellectual property licensing. She chairs Sheehan Phinney’s Boost for Startups program, where she helps local startups address critical legal needs and connect with business resources. This work gives her a practical role in helping emerging companies move from formation through financing, growth, and potential exit transactions.

Emily B. Penaskovic has been recognized by NH Business Review’s New Hampshire 200, Best Lawyers Ones to Watch, and New England Super Lawyers Rising Stars. She serves on the New Hampshire Tech Alliance Board of Directors as Chair and has been involved with the New Hampshire Startup Challenge.
