Dan Rayfield

Dan Rayfield serves as the Attorney General of Oregon, where he leads efforts to uphold justice, strengthen community safety, and protect seniors and working families. His leadership is guided by a commitment to fairness, collaboration, and the rule of law. With a career spanning nearly two decades in law and public service, Rayfield brings a balanced, results-driven approach to addressing Oregon’s most pressing legal and social challenges.

Rayfield completed his Bachelor’s from Western Oregon University and his J.D. from Willamette University College of Law. He was admitted to the Oregon State Bar in 2006 and began his legal career in private practice, focusing on consumer protection and civil litigation. Over 18 years, he has built a strong record of representing individuals and communities, emphasizing accountability, fairness, and access to justice.

Rayfield’s public service career includes a decade in the Oregon legislature, where he represented Corvallis and surrounding communities. During his tenure, he served four years as Co-Chair of the Ways and Means Committee and was later elected Speaker of the Oregon House of Representatives. As Speaker, he championed major initiatives to protect reproductive rights, expand housing, strengthen public education, and promote economic growth through investments in the state’s semiconductor industry.

As Attorney General, Dan Rayfield continues to advocate for policies that reflect Oregon’s values—justice, equity, and opportunity for all. He works closely with law enforcement, community organizations, and state agencies to enhance public safety and consumer protection.
