Dan B. Riggs began practicing law in 1975 and today serves as a senior attorney at Lonabaugh and Riggs, LLP. His practice is centered on land and mineral law, where he advises clients on mineral leases, surface agreements, easements, and related disputes. With decades of experience, he has established himself as a trusted resource in Wyoming’s energy and natural resources sector.
Dan earned his B.A., cum laude, in 1972 and his J.D., with honors, in 1975, both from the University of Wyoming. Admitted to the Wyoming State Bar, U.S. District Court for the District of Wyoming, and the U.S. Supreme Court Bar, Dan is well-qualified to handle cases at every level of the legal system. His early academic work as Land Editor for the Land and Water Review foreshadowed a career dedicated to land and resource law.
Dan has litigated numerous mineral title matters and pipeline easement disputes in both state and federal courts. His knowledge extends beyond litigation to transactional matters, including oil and gas agreements, wind energy projects, banking, business law, and real estate.
