About
Craig Blackmon is a real estate attorney with deep experience helping people buy, sell, and protect their homes. Practicing in Seattle since 1999, Craig has guided hundreds of clients through real estate transactions and legal challenges, offering knowledgeable support every step of the way.
Craig earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Washington School of Law. After law school, Craig began his legal career at a large civil litigation firm. In 2005, he launched his own solo law practice, with a focus on residential real estate law, which he continues today.
Craig’s work includes transactional support and courtroom litigation. He has drafted and reviewed contracts, resolved disputes, and handled cases through trial and appeal, most notably prevailing in the reported case of Hanks v. Grace. He has also helped countless clients avoid court altogether through practical, negotiated solutions.
Craig was also a licensed real estate broker starting in 2009, offering both legal and brokerage services through 2015 as a member of the Northwest Multiple Listing Service. Even after leaving the NWMLS, he continued offering real estate brokerage support until 2020. His broker’s license is now inactive, and he focuses solely on legal services.
Craig has built and led several real estate ventures to promote consumer savings and efficiency. His most notable startup, WaLaw, and others like Quill, Added Equity RE, and RobotAgent.com, all pushed for better alternatives to the traditional real estate model. He also founded FSBOLawyers.org to connect buyers and sellers with legal help instead of agents.
Craig Blackmon remains committed to accessible legal support. He offers conversations to help people understand their options before they decide to hire a lawyer. He believes that informed clients are the best clients, and he takes pride in helping people make confident, cost-effective real estate decisions.
