Timothy D. Howell is a founding partner of Moses, Palmer & Howell, L.L.P., where he focuses his practice on commercial and general litigation and business and energy law. With extensive experience before courts and arbitration panels, Tim handles cases involving contractual disputes, oil and gas law, premises liability, banking issues, product liability, construction claims, real estate conflicts, and business torts.
A graduate and valedictorian of St. Mary’s School of Law, Tim earned his J.D. summa cum laude in 1997, where he served as Articles Editor for the St. Mary’s Law Journal. He holds a B.A. in History, cum laude, from Texas Christian University. He is admitted to practice in Texas and in multiple federal courts, including the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
Tim’s practice also includes advising clients on construction and mineral liens, entity formation, non-compete agreements, and a wide range of transactional and strategic business matters. He regularly negotiates oil and gas leases, surface use agreements, and pipeline easements, providing legal insight that blends litigation experience with practical business planning.
Recognized multiple times by Texas Super Lawyers and Fort Worth, Texas Magazine, Tim has earned accolades for legal excellence and client service. He is currently Vice Chair of the Tarrant County Bar Association’s Energy Section and is a Fellow of both the Texas Bar Foundation and Tarrant County Bar Foundation.
Beyond the courtroom, Timothy D. Howell co-authors articles on oil and gas law and frequently presents at business seminars. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Fort Worth and remains active in youth sports and the TCU community. His leadership, strategic counsel, and commitment to service make him a trusted advocate in both litigation and business law.
