Allen holds a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. He later earned his Juris Doctor from Baylor University School of Law. Allen’s combined technical and legal education empowers him to understand advanced technology issues from both engineering and legal viewpoints.
Allen is licensed to practice in the State of Texas and before federal courts. He is admitted to the United States Patent and Trademark Office and the United States District Courts for the Northern and Western Districts of Texas. His admissions show his ability to represent clients in both intellectual property and broader federal matters.
Allen actively participates in several professional associations. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Intellectual Property Law Section, and the American Intellectual Property Law Association. He is also a member of the Federalist Society, supporting constitutional and legal scholarship.
Beyond his practice, Allen has a strong record of community service. He participates in the San Antonio Bar Association’s Community Justice Program and Wills Clinic. He has judged the CITE $100k Student Technology Venture Competition and served as a guest lecturer at UTSA’s College of Business.
