Christy O’Connor

Christy O’Connor is a seasoned trial attorney with more than 20 years of experience representing clients in criminal cases across federal and state courts. She began her career in the white-collar practice group of a premier international law firm, where she defended individuals and corporations in high-stakes investigations and prosecutions involving securities fraud, wire fraud, obstruction of justice, and related matters. Her early work built the foundation for a career focused on criminal defense advocacy.

O’Connor earned her B.A. in History from Stanford University before completing her J.D. at the University of California, Los Angeles, School of Law. Her education at two of the nation’s leading institutions provided her with the research and analytical skills necessary for complex trial work. She is admitted to practice in California, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. District Courts for the Central, Southern, Northern, and Eastern Districts of California.

For 15 years, O’Connor served as a trial lawyer with the Federal Public Defender’s Offices in Miami and Los Angeles. She handled hundreds of cases during that time, ranging from misdemeanors to capital death penalty trials. She has tried more than 30 cases to verdict, with acquittals in over half. She has also won numerous pretrial motions, persuaded prosecutors to reduce or dismiss charges, and guided clients through some of the most difficult moments of their lives with skill and determination.

Christy O’Connor continues to represent clients facing charges such as fraud, bribery, money laundering, firearms violations, narcotics offenses, and RICO conspiracies. Known for her fierce courtroom advocacy and compassionate client service, she combines trial experience with strategic decision-making to achieve results.
