About
Chris Dove is an attorney at Hunter Law Group in Prairie Village, Kansas, who represents clients in financial fraud, insurance recovery, fiduciary duty, asset recovery, real estate, and commercial litigation. Much of his work involves receivers and bankruptcy trustees seeking to recover property that has been hidden or transferred. Chris has also acted as a receiver, giving him experience with that role as well as legal representation.
Chris completed an undergraduate degree in biochemistry & philosophy at the University of Kansas. He then earned a master’s degree in statistical ecology from the University of Oregon and a Juris Doctor from the University of Kansas in 2003. During law school, he led the University of Kansas Law Review as Editor-in-Chief and earned membership in Order of the Coif.
Chris began his legal career clerking for a United States District Court judge in Kansas City. He later represented investment bank lenders in commercial real estate finance transactions in Washington, D.C. His work expanded into patent litigation, white-collar corporate investigations, and commercial finance, and he became a licensed patent lawyer. He subsequently worked for the United States Department of Justice on tax liability, fraudulent tax shelters, and corporate directors’ and officers’ liability.
Chris Dove brings experience in finance, investigations, and government legal work to disputes involving business assets and financial obligations. His background supports his representation of fiduciaries pursuing recoveries and clients involved in commercial litigation. Fellow attorneys selected him for Kansas City’s Best of Bar recognition. He also participated in the Kansas City Chamber of Commerce’s 2014 Centurions Leaders Program, adding civic leadership experience to his professional background.
