Chelsey A. Stoppleworth

Chelsey A. Stoppleworth is an associate attorney at ABST Law whose work focuses on trust and estate litigation, estate planning, landlord-tenant matters, and general civil litigation. Based in the Fargo area, she represents clients in disputes over legal responsibilities and property interests while also helping with planning-related matters. She has worked with individuals, businesses, and local government entities. Her background combines private legal practice, municipal prosecution, and military legal service.

Chelsey earned a B.S. in New Media and Web Design, with a minor in Psychology, from North Dakota State University in 2015. She received her Juris Doctor from the University of North Dakota School of Law in 2019. While attending law school, she served as a legal extern for the North Dakota National Guard and the North Dakota Department of Veterans Affairs during the 2019 legislative session. These experiences broadened her legal training beyond private practice.

Chelsey previously practiced in Wahpeton, North Dakota, representing individuals, businesses, and local government bodies. She also served as Assistant City Prosecutor for Wahpeton. Her military legal service included a year of active duty as a Judge Advocate with the North Dakota Army National Guard. In that role, she provided legal assistance and estate planning services to service members and advised commanders about administrative, personnel, and operational issues. She continues to serve as a National Guard officer.
