Charles M. Henter represents clients throughout Virginia in employment law, education law, college and student rights, immigration law, mental health and disability law, and appellate matters. His practice includes litigation involving governments, businesses, corporations, and individuals. Clients seek his guidance in matters that require careful legal analysis, strong advocacy, and practical judgment across complex civil, administrative, and appellate issues.

Charles graduated magna cum laude from George Mason University School of Law, where he earned several academic honors and was selected as a Dean’s Scholar. As a Dean’s Scholar, he taught first-year law students legal research and writing. He also served on the George Mason Law Review, giving him a strong foundation in legal writing, research, and advocacy.

Charles has built a Virginia-wide practice across his core areas of law. Since 2003, he has served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at George Mason University School of Law, teaching employment law and employment discrimination to upper-level students. He also wrote Know Your Rights: Easy Employment Law for Employees and frequently lectures on employee privacy, student rights, college discipline, mental health law, and special education.

Charles M. Henter is admitted before the Supreme Court of the United States, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, federal district courts in Virginia, the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Virginia, and the Supreme Court of Virginia. He has been recognized by SuperLawyers and Richmond magazine for his work, reflecting a practice focused on advocacy, knowledge, and client-centered service.
