Charles F. Printz, Jr. is an experienced civil litigation attorney with more than 35 years of practice. He has handled a wide range of complex legal matters and is known for strong advocacy. He has tried over 80 jury trials and argued more than 40 appeals in state and federal courts.
Charles earned his J.D. from West Virginia University College of Law in 1975, where he served as Lead Articles Editor of The West Virginia Law Review. He also earned a B.A. from the University of Virginia in 1972, building a strong academic foundation for his career.
Charles focuses his practice on civil litigation, including labor and employment, business litigation, construction disputes, and financial services matters. His work also includes environmental litigation, insurance defense, and health care litigation. He advises clients on workplace issues and helps manage risk through practical legal guidance.
Charles has defended employers in cases involving discrimination, harassment, wrongful discharge, and retaliation. He also handles Title IX investigations and litigation, as well as complex commercial disputes. His experience allows him to guide clients through both trial and appellate matters with confidence.
Charles is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia, the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of West Virginia, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. His broad admissions support his active litigation practice.
Charles has received many honors, including recognition by Chambers USA and The Best Lawyers in America for several practice areas. He has also received multiple Lawyer of the Year awards and holds an AV rating by Martindale-Hubbell. He remains active in professional groups and legal committees.
