Catherine Haynes Fenton

Catherine Haynes Fenton is a partner at JKS, LLC in Ellsworth, Maine, where she focuses on estate planning, probate, business law, and real estate. She has practiced law in Hancock County since 1997 and joined the firm in 2016 after many years in a varied general practice. Catherine earned a B.A. in English from Bates College and a J.D. from the University of Maine School of Law. She is admitted to practice in the State of Maine and before the US District Court for the District of Maine. Her education and broad legal background support her ability to analyze complex documents, explain legal options clearly, and guide clients through planning, administration, business, and property matters.

Her work includes helping clients prepare estate plans, manage probate responsibilities, address business formation and succession concerns, and complete real estate transactions. Catherine advises on matters involving wills, trusts, powers of attorney, estate administration, corporate agreements, property transfers, purchase and sale documents, and related planning needs. Catherine Haynes Fenton graduated from the 2022 New England Fellows Institute of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. She has presented at Maine State Bar Association continuing legal education programs and adult education sessions in Hancock and Washington counties. Catherine has also served the Hancock County Bar Association, the Maine Board of Overseers of the Bar, and local organizations, and she currently serves as board president of Special Children’s Friends in Ellsworth.
