Bryan Norton

Bryan Norton is a seasoned Idaho attorney with a diverse practice centered on real estate law, estate planning, probate, and business law. He is especially recognized for his experience in short-term rental and homeowner association law, and is one of Idaho’s few legal experts in Unmanned Aircraft Systems (drone) law. His practical, grounded approach offers clients clarity and actionable guidance.

Bryan earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Idaho College of Law in 2015, achieving Dean’s List honors every semester. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in political science and history with honors from the University of Washington, earned while serving in law enforcement. His academic credentials underpin a career committed to public service and legal excellence.

Bryan’s career began in the U.S. Army’s elite 75th Ranger Regiment and continued with sixteen years in law enforcement. After becoming an attorney, he served as a key legal advisor in the Boise City Attorney’s Office, working closely with the Boise Police Department on criminal law, public records, employment law, use of force, and police procedures. He also helped design legal training curricula for Idaho law enforcement and served as an instructor at the Boise Police Academy, strengthening police training and compliance across the state.

Bryan’s private practice now includes advising clients statewide and federally. He is admitted to practice in all Idaho state courts, the Federal District Court for the District of Idaho, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He continues to lead in drone law, having contributed to the drafting of Idaho’s current statute, published on the topic, and spoken nationally.
