About
Bryan Bishop is senior counsel at Bosson Legal Group in Fairfax, Virginia, where he focuses on estate planning, estate administration, and estate litigation. He joined the practice in February 2024 following the merger of his former firm, Living Trust Attorney, Ltd. With more than 35 years of experience in estate management, he helps individuals and families plan the transfer of assets, prepare for incapacity, and address legal issues following a death.
Bryan earned a B.A. from Dartmouth College in 1980 and a J.D. from Washington and Lee School of Law in 1988. His legal education provides a foundation for creating estate documents and handling probate and trust proceedings. His professional experience includes operating a dedicated trusts and estates practice and explaining estate planning concepts in educational seminars for audiences in private, corporate, and public settings.
Bryan has personally drafted approximately 1,500 estate plans, most centered on living trusts paired with pour-over wills. He has supervised the administration of more than 100 estates through trust or probate procedures and overseen the implementation of dozens of plans following incapacity or death. He has also litigated estate disputes in several jurisdictions. His former firm developed a simplified living trust intended to coordinate estate planning with life insurance benefits.
Bryan Bishop is admitted to practice in Virginia and the District of Columbia and is also a member of the U.S. Supreme Court Bar. He works across both the planning and dispute sides of estate law, allowing him to consider how documents may operate when a family later needs to use them. His practice emphasizes clear planning, responsible administration, and practical handling of contested estate issues.
