Alex Heidt

Alex Heidt is the founder of The Heidt Law Firm, PLLC, in Fairfax, Virginia. His practice focuses on business law, government contracts, corporate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and related advisory matters. He also handles estate planning, estate disputes, and appeals. His clients include government contractors, small and midsize companies, executives, and individuals with significant assets. He draws on a prior executive career in the defense industry to address legal and commercial decisions.

Alex earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Strayer University, an M.A. in Finance from The Catholic University of America, and a Juris Doctor from Catholic University’s Columbus School of Law. He was admitted to the Virginia State Bar in 2002. His combined studies in business, finance, and law help him assess contractual and organizational questions from both a legal and commercial perspective.

Alex spent more than 25 years in executive positions across the defense contracting industry. His roles included senior leadership at Harris Corporation, Alion Science and Technology, Lockheed Martin, and Orbital Sciences. He worked on government contracting, international negotiations, operational strategy, and merger and acquisition activities involving more than $15 billion in transactions. That experience informs his advice on corporate structure, contracts, due diligence, and business growth.

Alex Heidt received Strayer University’s Alumni of the Year recognition in 2012 and was recognized in Best Lawyers 2026 for estates work in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area. His practice connects experience with large government contractors to the needs of businesses managing contracts, transactions, compliance, and disputes. He aims to help clients understand risk before it affects important commercial decisions.
