Brock C. Akers

Brock C. Akers is the founder of The Akers Firm and a highly respected trial lawyer with over four decades of courtroom experience. Known for his sharp legal mind and courtroom skill, Mr. Akers has tried more than 400 cases to verdict across a wide range of civil litigation matters, including product liability, premises liability, trucking, construction, business disputes, and more.

Mr. Akers earned his B.A. from Texas Christian University in 1978 and his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law in 1981. While in law school, he was on the National Mock Trial Team and served on the Review of Litigation.

Mr. Akers began his legal career at Vinson & Elkins, one of the nation’s largest law firms. He later became a shareholder at Phillips & Akers before founding The Akers Firm in 2014. His extensive trial record and dedication to client advocacy have earned him top recognition. He is board-certified in both Personal Injury Trial Law and Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and the National Board of Trial Advocacy.

Mr. Akers has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America® annually since 1999 and maintains an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell. He has been repeatedly named a Texas Super Lawyer and holds a perfect 10 AVVO rating.

Brock C. Akers has long served on the Texas Pattern Jury Charge Committee, including over a decade as Chair of the Negligence Committee. He regularly writes and lectures on trial strategy and tort law and is the principal author of The Trial Lawyer Series. Licensed since 1981, Mr. Akers is admitted to practice in all Texas federal courts, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
