Brian Riekkola

Brian Riekkola is a co-founder of North Star Law Group and a skilled attorney whose practice spans a wide range of civil and commercial matters. His areas of focus include business litigation,probate litigation, landlord representation, non-judicial foreclosures, contract drafting, intellectual property, and municipal disputes. Brian combines strategic legal insight with practical problem-solving to represent clients effectively throughout Alaska.

Brian earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Oregon School of Law in 2013, following a Bachelor of Science in Electronic Engineering Technology from DeVry University in 2009. His background in both engineering and law uniquely equips him to handle complex technical issues that arise in commercial and municipal disputes.

Prior to co-founding his firm, Brian worked in resource industries, including gold mining and oil field operations, experiences that ground his legal work in real-world understanding. His legal accomplishments include being part of an arbitration team that secured a $9.6 million award in a construction dispute, and representing clients at all levels of Alaska’s court system—including oral argument before the Alaska Supreme Court.

Brian has represented businesses and individuals across the state, managing foreclosures in Kodiak, evictions in Fairbanks, contract drafting in Homer, and business litigation in Anchorage. His commitment to accessible, state-wide representation sets him apart as a trusted advisor for Alaskans in need of effective legal counsel.

Brian Riekkola has served as a law clerk to Hon. Patrick McKay and judicial clerk to Hon. Nancy Porter, and is currently a Board Member of the Alaska SeaLife Center. Brian is admitted to practice in Alaska, the Federal District Court of Alaska, and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
