Brian D. Batt

Brian D. Batt is an intellectual property attorney whose work centers on patents, trademarks, copyrights, and related IP matters. Brian earned his BS Biology 2013 from Brigham Young University. He later completed his Juris Doctor 2018 at the University of Colorado Law School. His education in biology provides a strong foundation for his work in patent law, especially in technical and science-based fields.

Brian represents clients in matters involving utility patents, design patents, trademarks, and copyrights. His experience includes patent prosecution across a range of technical fields. He has worked with mechanical devices, medical devices, welding machinery, water treatment systems, cosmetic devices, and other technologies. He helps clients move ideas from concept to protection by guiding them through the patent and trademark process with careful attention to detail.

Brian began his legal career in St. George, Utah at an IP boutique law firm, where he served as an associate intellectual property attorney. During that time, his work focused heavily on patent prosecution and assisting inventors and businesses in securing intellectual property rights. His technical background supports his ability to understand complex products and explain legal options in clear terms.

Brian D. Batt is a member of the Idaho State Bar, Utah State Bar, and USPTO. He has also worked as an Associate Intellectual Property Attorney at Gurr Brande and Spendlove, PLLC and currently serves as an Associate Attorney at Beard St. Clair Gaffney PA.
