Brian Biggs

Brian Biggs is a highly skilled intellectual property attorney and partner at DLA Piper LLP (US) in Wilmington, Delaware. With extensive experience in patent litigation, he has represented clients in over 250 cases involving diverse technical fields such as telecommunications, medical devices, automotive technology, pharmaceuticals, and e-commerce.

Brian earned a B.S. in Biomedical Physics from Pennsylvania State University. During his undergraduate studies, he also completed minors in Bioengineering, Mathematics, and History. He furthered his scientific expertise by obtaining an M.P.H. in Epidemiology from Drexel University. He earned a J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law to build his legal acumen in 2011.

Since starting his legal career, Brian has focused on patent litigation in the District of Delaware, one of the most prominent jurisdictions for intellectual property disputes in the United States. He often serves as lead counsel in cases, using his technical knowledge to manage the complex aspects of patent law, including damages, discovery, and technical analysis. His experience extends to other major jurisdictions, including appellate advocacy at the Federal Circuit and patent litigation in Texas and California.

Brian is an active leader in the legal community. He serves on the Lawyer Advisory Committee to the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware and the Delaware Board of Bar Examiners, helping shape legal practice and policy in the state. He also holds key leadership positions in national organizations, including the Federal Bar Association and the Federal Circuit Bar Association.
