Brian A. Flank brings strategic execution and creative problem-solving to clients in corporate and commercial real estate transactions. His legal experience covers mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, dispositions, and reorganizations. He advises privately-owned businesses, including shopping center owners, real estate developers, medical companies, and automotive dealerships.
Brian earned his undergraduate degree in economics from the University of Maryland, where he also received an honors certificate from the University Honors Program. He later obtained his J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law and went on to complete his LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Baltimore School of Law.
Brian routinely assists with business restructurings and serves as corporate counsel to clients handling day-to-day legal needs. His work includes large-scale transactions such as the sale of a major automotive dealership in Virginia, the acquisition of a national sports complex, and strategic investments in the cannabis and energy sectors.
Brian also has deep experience in real estate law, representing clients in the purchase and refinancing of multi-property portfolios. He has handled complex transactions involving office parks, apartment complexes, and 1031 exchanges. His clients value his skill in managing joint ventures and investor arrangements in real estate investments.
Brian is an active member of the Maryland, New York, and District of Columbia Bar Associations. He serves on the board of Community Housing Assistance, Inc. (CHAI) and co-chairs the Advocate Committee of the Jewish Affinity Group at The Gilman School. He has held advisory roles in educational and alumni organizations throughout Maryland.
