Brett H. Klein is a highly respected civil rights attorney with over 25 years of experience representing individuals whose rights have been violated by law enforcement and government officials. As the founding partner of Klein Civil Rights, he has dedicated his career to seeking justice for victims of wrongful convictions, excessive force, police misconduct, and other forms of government abuse. Mr. Klein has secured numerous high-profile settlements and verdicts, ensuring accountability for those who have suffered unjust treatment.

Mr. Klein earned his B.A. from Binghamton University in 1994. He then pursued his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School, graduating in 1997. He is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey, as well as the United States Supreme Court, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, and multiple U.S. District Courts across New York and New Jersey.

Throughout his career, Mr. Klein has fought for justice in wrongful conviction cases; police brutality claims, unlawful strip searches, prison abuse, and wrongful arrests. His experience includes securing record-breaking settlements for clients, including a $13.25 million police shooting settlement and a $1.85 million settlement for the wrongful death of an autistic man. He has also helped individuals wrongfully imprisoned for years receive fair compensation.

Mr. Klein has tried and won numerous jury trials against government agencies, including the City of New York, the State of New York, the United States, and other municipalities. His work has led to landmark legal victories, holding officials accountable for their actions.

A recognized leader in civil rights law, Brett H. Klein is a member of the Federal Bar Association, the Federal Bar Council, and the National Police Accountability Project.
