Bonnie J. Paskvan is a partner at Dorsey & Whitney in Anchorage who advises businesses, Alaska Native corporations, municipalities, boards, and other organizations on commercial and governance matters. Her practice includes mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, compliance, municipal law, finance, and transactional work. She also serves as co-chair of the firm’s Indian & Alaska Native Law Practice Group and draws on more than three decades of in-house and private practice experience.
Paskvan earned a J.D. from Stanford Law School in 1986, where she served as an Associate Editor of the Stanford Law Review from 1983 to 1986. She earned a B.A. in International Relations, with Distinction, from Stanford University in 1983. Her legal and academic background supports a practice that requires careful analysis of corporate structures, public law responsibilities, contracts, financing arrangements, and governance obligations.
Paskvan previously served as general counsel of Calista Corporation, chief legal officer of Alaska Wireless Network, and corporate counsel at GCI. She also spent 14 years in private practice before moving into senior in-house roles. Her experience includes outside general counsel and City Attorney work, commercial transactions, financings, corporate governance, and legal issues affecting Alaska Native corporations and telecommunications businesses. She has also worked on Alaska legislation involving entity transactions and virtual or hybrid organizational meetings.
Bonnie J. Paskvan serves as the Anchorage Office Head and a Diversity Partner at Dorsey. Her background in both executive in-house roles and private practice gives her perspective on how legal decisions affect operations, boards, financing, and long-term planning. She helps clients evaluate risk, structure transactions, meet governance responsibilities, and address the legal needs of organizations operating in Alaska’s business, municipal, and Alaska Native communities.
