Bernard Ilkhanoff

Bernard Ilkhanoff, Esq., is a co-founder of Ilkhanoff & Silverstein, P.C., where his practice includes personal injury law, criminal defense, and family law matters. He represents clients in Pennsylvania and Maryland in disputes that can involve courtroom litigation, negotiation, mediation, and related legal strategy. Before entering private practice, he gained experience in government service and civil litigation. His work reflects a long-standing focus on trial advocacy and client representation across several areas of law.

Mr. Ilkhanoff earned a B.A. in Political Science and Spanish from Frostburg State University. He later received his J.D. from Temple University School of Law. At Temple, he participated in the Trial Advocacy Program and served as Associate Editor of the Temple University International & Comparative Law Journal. His legal education included judicial and corporate internships that strengthened his research, writing, and courtroom preparation skills.

Mr. Ilkhanoff began his legal career as an Assistant City Solicitor for the City of Baltimore Law Department. In that role, he represented the Baltimore Police Department and Police Commissioner in advisory, litigation, and administrative matters. He appeared in state and federal trial and appellate courts. He later co-founded Ilkhanoff & Silverstein, P.C. in 1999. His private practice expanded into criminal defense, personal injury, domestic law, and other general practice matters serving Pennsylvania and Maryland clients.

Bernard Ilkhanoff has held leadership roles with the York County Bar Association, Lancaster Bar Association, and Pennsylvania Bar Association. He served as president of the York County Bar Association and later held leadership positions within the Lancaster Bar Association. His professional memberships include the Pennsylvania and Maryland Associations for Justice and the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. His honors include the Jeremiah Sullivan Black Barrister Award and recognition in criminal law and litigation.
