Paula Silverstein

Paula Silverstein, Esq., is a partner and co-founder of Ilkhanoff & Silverstein, P.C., where she has practiced law for more than 20 years. Her work includes criminal defense, family law, divorce, personal injury, civil litigation, mediation, and related disputes. She handles complicated matters that require negotiation, settlement strategy, or courtroom advocacy. Her earlier insurance defense experience gives her insight into strategies used by insurers in injury and liability cases.

Paula attended Muhlenberg College before earning her J.D. from Widener University School of Law. During law school, she served as a law clerk for the City of Philadelphia Law Department. Her work included appearances in Pennsylvania state and federal trial and appellate courts. That experience provided early exposure to litigation and government legal practice before she entered full-time practice.

Paula began her career as an Assistant City Solicitor for Philadelphia and worked with the Mayor’s Office, Police Department, and other city departments. She later joined Post & Schell, P.C. and handled civil litigation in its General Liability Department. She then served as in-house counsel for two major insurance carriers. In 1999, she opened Ilkhanoff & Silverstein, P.C. with Bernard Ilkhanoff. Her current work includes divorce, custody, mediation, personal injury, and civil disputes.

Paula Silverstein is licensed in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and New Jersey and is admitted before the US Supreme Court and the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. She has held leadership roles with the Lancaster and York County bar associations. Her professional work includes divorce and custody mediation, parenting coordination, and court-appointed mediation. She serves as Vice President and a board member of the Lancaster Bar Association and continues advanced training in family dispute resolution.
