About
Benjamin Wilcox is a Colorado Springs criminal defense attorney who represents people facing criminal charges. A Colorado Springs native, he brings knowledge of the local community and its legal landscape to every case. His practice is informed by years of experience as a public defender, where he represented numerous clients, worked to protect their rights, and advocated for their interests throughout the criminal process.
Ben earned an undergraduate degree in political science with an emphasis in international security and development from Westmont College. He later earned his Juris Doctor from Pepperdine University in Malibu, along with a certification in Criminal Legal Practice. While in law school, he strengthened his legal research and writing skills as a staff editor for the Journal of Business, Entrepreneurship, and the Law.
Before attending law school, Ben worked for two years as a paralegal at the Sanger Law Firm in Santa Barbara. In that role, he gained practical experience with civil litigation and criminal defense matters. He later built further courtroom and client-service experience as a public defender. This combination of early litigation exposure, focused legal training, and defense work helps him assess criminal cases, address complex legal issues, and present clear arguments for his clients.
Benjamin Wilcox has been recognized by the National Trial Lawyers Association as one of the Top 40 Under 40 criminal defense lawyers in Colorado. His professional background reflects a continued focus on criminal law, careful legal analysis, and strong advocacy. Drawing on his local ties, public defense experience, and research and writing skills, he works to help clients understand the legal process while ensuring their positions are heard and their rights remain protected.
