Becky A. Torres

Becky A. Torres is the founding attorney of The Torres Law Firm, LLC, and focuses her legal practice on water rights, real estate law, land use, business formation, eminent domain, and estate planning. She represents agricultural, industrial, institutional, residential, and development clients across New Mexico. Through careful legal analysis and strategic guidance, she helps clients protect property interests, manage complex transactions, and resolve regulatory issues while working with agencies such as the New Mexico Office of the State Engineer.

Becky earned her J.D. from Texas Tech University School of Law in 2010. In the same year, she completed an M.S. in Agricultural and Applied Economics from Texas Tech University. Earlier, she received a B.S. from the New Mexico Institute of Mining & Technology in 2004. This strong academic foundation supports her analytical approach and helps her evaluate legal and policy issues with clarity and confidence on a daily basis.

Becky was admitted to the New Mexico Bar in 2010. She is an active member of the State Bar of New Mexico and the Sandoval County Bar Association. Through her legal work, she helps clients understand their rights and make informed decisions about important matters. She also contributed to legal scholarship through her publication, “Fresh Water Resource and International Irrigation Policy and Reform” in the University of Denver Water Law Review in 2009, demonstrating thoughtful legal analysis.

Becky A. Torres contributes to the legal and local community through professional and civic service beyond her practice. She has been involved with Leadership Sandoval County and serves with the City of Rio Rancho Utilities Commission. Her work also includes support for organizations such as Galloping Grace Youth Ranch and the J. Reuben Clark Law Society. She has also shared knowledge as a guest lecturer for the New Mexico Groundwater Association well driller continuing education conference in 2015, supporting professionals.
