Bart Torvik

Bart Torvik is a skilled personal injury and foodborne illness attorney with extensive litigation experience. As a founding partner of OFT Food Safety & Injury Lawyers, he is committed to securing justice for individuals harmed by unsafe food practices and corporate negligence. His practice also includes business litigation and counseling, where he applies his legal expertise to protect clients’ rights and interests.

Bart earned his J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2003, where he graduated at the top of his class and was inducted into the Order of the Coif. He received the Sidney J. Kaplan Award and the Dorsey & Whitney Scales of Justice Award for his academic excellence. Before law school, he completed his B.A. at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1999. After graduating, he served as a judicial law clerk for Chief Judge James M. Rosenbaum of the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota, gaining invaluable courtroom insight.

Following his clerkship, Bart handled complex litigation matters at Dorsey & Whitney, LLP. In 2011, he founded Torvik Law LLC, successfully representing clients in personal injury, foodborne illness, and business disputes. Recognizing the need for stronger advocacy in food safety litigation, he co-founded OFT Food Safety & Injury Lawyers, focusing on holding negligent food suppliers accountable. Licensed in Illinois, he leads the firm’s Evanston office, providing dedicated legal counsel to clients nationwide.

Recognized as a Rising Star by Illinois Super Lawyers (2013–2016) and Minnesota Law & Politics Magazine (2008–2010), Bart Torvik is a highly respected attorney known for his meticulous legal analysis and strategic, results-driven advocacy.
